I haven’t posted this week as I have been madly staining a log cabin between two lakes at the end of a dead end road, while the weather permits after a summer of near constant rain, and preparing for a conversation with
and at the East Meets West Podcast, Eurabia 39, a Pagan, Catholic and Islamist chatting about how to save the world, lol.
I think I comported myself well enough, though I say “at this point”, “basically” and “essentially” a lot. It has been a very long time since I heard myself talk. It is a weird feeling. I might have said a few other things differently, but then I don’t have a lot of experience with this, so I’m going with, we had a good talk, a fun time and will probably do another podcast sometime.
We talked about a lot of the usual stuff they talk about over there, which is to say, doom. I tried to keep it a bit less doomy, more optimistic. We talked about religion and God, too. How to prepare for difficult times. Three guys can almost make it sound like they know what they are talking about, in 2.5 hrs.

I empathize with your small town isolation and inability to have conversations around the subjects of history, culture, politics and religion.
