On the false promise of centralized "progress"

A friend of mine who used to manage tech for one of the TBTF Banks and then started his own business white-hat hacking mainframes to find vulnerabilities, once called me a Luddite. I was like, I’ve built websites, I have maintained many blogs, I have used computers to write books, what makes you think I am hostile to technology? Because I like to go on wilderness canoe trips? Because I am a gardener? Because I am skeptical about scientific materialism? Because I advocate for local production of essentials? I helped him remodel his basement (with power tools) and framed the shower he has about a dozen different massaging jets in, so I responded by calling him a sensualist, and making him the model of one of my primary characters in my post-apocalyptic novel, troubled and cast adrift by vastly reduced circumstances.

Luddite comes from Ned Ludd, a fictional (maybe) character who monkey-wrenched English warehouses in the early years of the industrial revolution, when industry started making cheap products that were destroying the livelihood of tailors and seamstresses, tool makers, cobblers etc, and the communities they lived in. Calling someone a Luddite is like saying you are backwards, clueless sentimental and otherwise ungrateful about the glories of eternal progress. My friend was mostly joking, but it is true, his embrace of scientific, technological progress has been vastly more lucrative than my skepticism about the future of this scientific materialist society.

I am more than skeptical about scientific materialism, I think it has become a cult. Clearly the people who believe in eternal progress, implicit in the scientific materialist worldview, are insane, thoroughly propagandized and otherwise brainwashed. Is progress the planned obsolescence of most consumer products, reduced from ten, to three, to one year, if it actually works right out of the box? Is it because of all the cheap crap China makes for us, when we hardly produce anything of quality anymore? Maybe it’s because most people wore tailored clothing 150 years ago and we mostly wear flimsy, thin mass produced? Maybe it’s because the fresh fruit we buy from the grocery in the winter is so much less nutrient dense, less tasty and more laden with chemicals than the preserved goods from the garden, orchard or gathered wild, our ancestors ate? Maybe it’s because some people think men can have babies?

Of course, there has been a lot of progress, and we could probably have a lot more progress, except the purveyors of progress who supposedly lead it are all about their progress, and not yours and mine. I call it a cult because so many people believe them about what progress looks like, even if fewer and fewer believe what is categorically false every day.

Did anyone else notice how quickly it went from me-too, all about women, to you can’t say woman? We went direct from listen to women to there is no such thing… and covid. Has anyone else noticed the similarities between safe and effective gene therapy, and gender affirming care? The only covid therapies allowed were the most expensive, just as the only gender therapy acceptable to the advocates of progress eternal is a lifetime of pharmaceuticals and treatments for the pain of genital mutilation.

Unscientific Covid policy demolished childhood mental health, at the exact same time a legion of groomers descended upon them, and the whole of the medical establishment lined up to celebrate a revolution in eugenics. Is it progress that we have convinced parents to let establishment medicine sterilize their kids, and for kids to demand it? Do-no-harm got boostered and died suddenly, because progress.

The transhumanists say the Great Reset is progress, eating insects instead of animals, getting your bimonthly multi-boosters so you can eat bugs, bicycling in the winter snow, never leaving the city, spending your days in the metaverse, renting your clothes, living in pods instead of houses, becoming a cyborg, erasing history, question not the techno-trannycrat, you will have no more need of guns, our Central Bank Digital Currency is going to keep you safe, drugs are abundant and practically free, anything you want, and need.

I used to say that conservatives too easily conflated wealth and power with morality. I think a lot of conservatives still do, like you are more moral the more money you make. Liberals now conflate science and technology with morality, that the most moral are the technocratic experts, followed by those who do not question the experts and the kind of progress that is unscientific pandemicist mRNA jabs for every illness under the sun, DEI race hustling and invasive irreversible medical interventions for gender confused children.

There have always been people who identify with the opposite gender. It is only in this modern age that we can carve up and drug people into believing it changes their biological sex. Kaitlin Jenner is a woman like his menstruation was red before he didn’t go into menopause. As for the scientific conceits of the Great Reset/cyborg crowd, let them butcher themselves.

Of course, it is not just liberals. Conservatives have their own conceits when it comes to science. Ron DeSantis is a darling of the right now, for his challenges to the covid and the woke transhumanist regimes. At the same time he is angling to mostly eliminate abortions after six weeks, because fetal heartbeat - even though that heart ain’t going to beat outside momma, without major technical and very expensive interventions aka Science, for another 20 weeks at least. If you want to force people to have more babies, just say so, because your fetal heartbeat limit is unscientific bullshit and politically retarded besides, making you look like the authoritarian strong man your detractors claim you to be.

Conservatives also widely believe if government just gets out of the way, we will be swimming in fossil fuels forever and a day.

Which is about as smart as liberals thinking we are going to build a renewable energy economy that looks more or less exactly like this fossil fuel society except fancier and cleaner and gaer.

Maybe I am a luddite, if that means I believe progress would look like abundant pollinators and wild creatures generally and wilderness, healthy air and soil, most people’s food is produced within a few hundred miles of where they live, most of the essential goods produced within the same, we don’t need 95% of government, corporations or NGO’s anymore, everybody has access to blockchain currency no one controls, most people have skills and meaningful work and family and friends and are healthy and happy, free to move wherever they are able. Communication is instantaneous to the other side of the world but wireless signal is 3G, media is grass roots mostly and entertainment. Technocrat is an antiquated word you call someone instead of retard. To Fauci is to kill someone with snake oil. Everybody living is a lot healthier with more herbalists everywhere than pharmaceuticals, and hardly anyone is looking for the magic pill. More people have more kids because kids are a joy and the future, and education is about making knowledgeable, skilled, sovereign individuals who care about others. What is left of governance is mostly open-source. The races mostly get along because no one is dividing them to conquer all, and most people have the same opportunities. Technological progress is slow but steady, less disruptive and more human. The world is enchanted again. Life is a celebration.

Well, “progress” is about to go critical. If one were a cynic, the Biden Admin and their allies in the deep state, the WEF and UN aka Globalists seem intent on handing the world to Xi and Putin, what with the petro dollar in a state of significant collapse due to deliberate neglect (Biden is going to end America using the use of fossil fuels, don’t you know?) Much more of the world is now, esp after the accord between Russia and China, buying oil with currencies that are not the dollar, and that means that $32 trillion debt, increased by a full third since Biden took office, is going to be a lot harder to service. Look for countries to start quietly offloading US Treasuries, the leadership of America looking so very idiotic; if that happens it might end up happening all at once, and then America is basically bankrupt. Our Brainiac elite seem to think they are just going to default on that debt if it comes to that, and then monopolize the world with their FedNow CBDC, which low and behold is going live sometime May-July, just as the banks are at the edge, again; but I think they might be running for their lives if they destroy the dollar. You might get the opportunity to reinvent America, whether you want it or not, sooner rather than later. Good news is those woke folk would be wandering alone in the wilderness, if not backstopped by the order of the GAE empire. Somehow I think the blood red commie dreams of the transhumanists are so much fluffy stuffing, under their more-evolved-than-thou masquerade. We might wake up one morning and find the whole miserable mind phuck was a mirage, a Marxicisst plot to destroy America - oh wait. It seems more likely with every passing day, we are going to find out what Americans are really made of, in the not too distant future. (That said, not even Xi and Putin want to destroy the dollar post-haste. There is immense inertia in the system, the global system is very much dependent on the dollar, expect the dollar to continue for awhile yet. But preparing for that day starts now.)

The problem with centralizing progress is, people can be greedy idiots, and centralizing power gives the greediest idiots way too much power turning them into monsters. That’s why we need to create progress that is decentralized, diffuse and spread out, empowering more people while lessening the likelihood that idiot monsters turn society dystopic. Think, the greater the centralization, the less progress over time and the greater the authoritarianism.

You will know them by their actions and their works. The globalist woke among us have more common cause with the Chinese Communist Party than they do with America. They got so many to take the Covid jabs with fear, shame, manipulation, intimidation and coercion. They have pushed the trans, Diverstiy, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and critical race agenda with the same fear, shame, manipulation, intimidation and coercion. That is the only way they are going to get people to accept a CBDC, and the Great Reset. They have to have their Chinese Communist Party style surveillance panopticon to make it work. They are so very scientifically, technologically conceited. With so much power, that is also called hubris. Hubris is always doomed.

Don't be a scientifically, technologically conceited centralizer full of hubris, doomed.

Otherwise, it might not feel like progress, but I highly recommend thinking now about what you are going to put away for next winter.
