Nice review, William. I don't plan to see this trash. The thing about watching propaganda is that even if the viewer consciously rejects the message it still leaves a residue of its framing within; it imprints its view which will have an effect one way or another. Predictive programming even if consciously rejected. I try to be careful about the content I consume as a result...

Thank you. I was sad the first day after. Then I was angry. I tend to avoid such things too but see it as a responsibility of sorts to report to my readers.

I watched this movie last week, wanting to see what all the hubbub was about. I too was mystified over the void of pretext (backstory) examining how things had reached this point. Texas and California joined forces in this western force? Uh, ok

hmmm. I might just have to see it again after all the (not so?) subtleties you brought out, William. It moved to fast for me to notice many of those particulars.

Just don’t get out to see movies anymore, considering the vapid schlock typically offered these days. At least this one makes me think, and all things considered, the production itself is eye catching.

As soon as I saw that water truck blow up, I knew the movie would be crap, so I pulled a pen and a receipt out on my pocket and started taking notes. I'm done with Hollywood except to make reviews about the propaganda.

Luckily, this film will be a flop, as most Hollywood productions are these days.

I think it ends up in the black, unfortunately. A24 does inexpensive films; production budget of $50 million, needs to make maybe $100 million with P&A spend and distributor cuts to be profitable. Worldwide theatrical total of $55+ million so far not including future revenue sources such as streaming, etc. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_War_(film)#Box_office.

If it was a typical big budget Hollywood film with $100-150 million production budget I agree it would be a flop.

I think it is possible too as word gets out viewership could drop off the table.

Certain actors have been pushing the narrative that white is bad and black is good for 15 years or so. Then we had antifa for 4 years (black is good) but they disappeared when Biden “won”.

This film seems to anticipate Trump becoming PM of Isr.. sorry President of the US. And it’s their democracy so he has to be killed. Considered going to see this movie 4/5 days ago. But anticipated that it would be how you described it so decided not to. Bad thing is that they’re all bad movies at the moment. There’s nothing to go and watch.

Very interesting review. Looking forward to seeing this myself.

As to it being war with no rules, well, we already have that going on. We don’t see it much because it’s blacks killing blacks in black ‘hoods.

I used to be a member of the Themadones M/C. Our clubhouse was at the corner of 27th and Emerson Ave. N; it’s still there. We were used to constant gunfire all around us at all times day or night (our meeting room walls were reinforced with 1/8” sheet steel after a round came through once), but on a Saturday in 2010, we got front row seats to just how brutal that war is.

We were outside, preparing for our big June BBQ fundraiser and suddenly there was gunfire right on the other side of the fence. Peering around the side of our building, we saw 2 black males standing next to their cars in the middle of the damn street, emptying their 9’s into each other from no more than 10’; even a 70IQ gangbanger couldn’t miss.

Mags empty, one took off up 27th for a couple blocks, crashed into a fence and died. The other went up Emerson to the corner, hit a tree and bled out.

The Bloods across the street were laughing and cheering their hero the whole time “look that nigga go!” “that nigga crazy!” “Yeah boi, pump it to that nigga!” When the car crashed, just beyond the house they occupied they gave him proper respect “ooooh! that nigga dead now”. Then they went back to grilling wings.

That’s Weimerica, pre-civil war.

Good ol' north mpls. I hear the new thing up their is regular sightings of military HumVeees. A liberal woman in South mpls told me about it, "this is America, I expect to see that in Africa. I don't understand." I did not reply, because she could not accept any question about liberal policy. Later when I mentioned that 10+ million military aged males have crossed the borders, she had no idea.

Fuck off Alex, indeed.

If it all goes to hell in a hand basket, people in rural areas and small towns will be better off because we have not all bowed to the trans idols. These people can keep their cities and their death cults.

Indeed, I hear constantly in the corporate media how rural people are racist, bigoted and hostile. Traveling to the city recently I was reminded how much more peaceful the rural areas are compared to the cities. The trick for rural areas will be how to maintain the economy as the cities turn ever more violent.

They can maintain their economy by starting to support each other now - real work, not desk jobs. Shop the local makers and farmers. I know it’s not that simple, but people used to live their lives doing that, not going to work in offices all day for a paycheck.

Whenever I talk to people or write about my garden and orchard people talk about how much they want to have a garden but don't have the space or time or talent, I remind them not everyone is going to grow food but you can support local people who do. I've been advocating as long as I remember for the importance of local economics. I suspect though the only thing that is going to spur that in earnest will be necessity.

I have experienced that too. And it takes all types of skills in a local economy. Some people know how to bake, sew, fix machines and on and on. Decentralized is key.

I saw the movie last weekend. I appreciate your review. You saw nuances I missed. I thought it was the worst movie I had seen. It was 2 hours of my life I wont get back. After the movie was over, my daughter and I looked at each other and said what was that all about. It was no Gettysburg

It was even worse than I expected. Garland apparently thinks his writing is so good he is done directing films, just writing scripts. Cheers to your daughter too for being a skeptic.

In his defence, he is a better writer than director. He began as a novelist and the movies that he's written for others, like 28 Days Later, have been much better than the ones he's directed.

Thank you William. I could not bring myself to watch five minutes of this cringe-fest. You confirmed my suspicions from what little I saw of the trailer. I'm done with woketards and I will take a hard pass on this piece of crap. Woketards like Alex Garland lust after a new American Civil War because it's their version of the Apocalypse meme. In Garland's fantasy, the slate is wiped clean of the Mean Tweeters and a few plucky survivors have a new Eden to plunder and settle. Ha! Like anyone on Garland's side would have any chance of winning a gun fight... ever. The Blue AWFL club is suicidal to begin with, so within a week or two of a real Civil War, the few who were still alive after the opening battle would be begging for their parents to pay any price so they could go back to their sedentary lives sipping nine dollar lattes and compulsively tapping on tablets and phone screens. Again, thanks for the review -- may it shepherd Alex Garland's career in film into the oubliette it richly deserves.

Glad to see you here. Yes, I have been laughing at the woketards at the fancy Universities chanting "the river to the sea" while most of them have no idea what that means, and then adding "we are Hamas!" And then go to TDS substacks reading the comments so very ready to talk like authoritarians, while it is very clear most of them would wet their pants in a real fight.

LOL... my husband keeps pointing out how Hamas treats gays. Interesting when the people on the team they've joined (with zero research because it is the Current Thing) would like to string them up on lamp posts by your own entrails. The Woke are experts at destroying themselves, and that is why we should always give them boycotts, space, and silence. Also, the anti-gun Left should not beg to fight a bunch of military rednecks, Annie Oakleys, and their legion of sympathizers.

The woke and trans are counting on the new and improved Trans woke military/spook community to protect them. But methinks demonizing police does not sit well with martial types generally, and there are a LOT more former military than existing. These protests too do not make theses zealots/larpers any more friends. Blocking freeways radicalizes normies against woke. DC is right in a sense, the greatest threat to DC and their woke Trans ideology is probably America, lol.

The CIA fails to understand that kingmakers can be just as vulnerable as the Emperor (or puppet emperor). At some point, protestors will be quietly disappeared via vigilante justice -- this is probably happening already. Meaning, some douchebag in her thrift store ninja garb gets dragged off to day prison for encasing her own feet in cement in the middle of a highway. Her name and mug shot is plastered on the internet for all to see. A few weeks to a year later, some lower middle class or middle class person with not much to lose and an axe to grind quietly finds her in a parking garage.

He does what the State has been unwilling to do, thereby solving the problem permanently and at low cost.

Thanks for watching this dumpster fire so we don't have to, haha.

All "females" in Hellyweird (and most in high-level positions) are MTF trannies. Here are some photos of young Kirsten Dunst: This is a male.

https://vintagenewsdaily.com/beautiful-kirsten-dunst-as-a-teenager-in-1995/

Here is one of Cailee Spaeny, who is clearly a boy.

Image searches reveal the male biological markers, such as Adam's Apple, wide shoulders, lean muscle mass, flat back/butt, narrow hips, long arms/hands, big feet, wide-set eyes, etc. When they are castrated and started on estrogen by the age of 7, they don't develop huge muscles, but their limbs grow long. That's why all these "women" appear kind of gangly.
