I use Google Gmail. My emails are a minor contributor to the free 15GB storage. Something strange is going on with your account. Does someone have access to your Google Drive?
I encountered the same issue with Google...I deleted a sh*t load of emails...basically did nothing. This happened a few times and I was ‘locked out’ of my emails by Google, then I finally caved and bought more ‘storage’! That’s one of the many reasons I want to get off gmail as my email provider, that they have the power of controlling what emails you get (or not) ...thinking about going to Proton mail. Just have to get it together to do all that stuff. I got off Google as my search engine on my devices a few years ago...use Duck Duck Go now, but it has it’s issues also and censors stuff too! I do have the Brave search engine but I don’t really care for the format of the Brave app on the devices!
With regard to internet search engines - research the "dead internet theory" (if you can find info of it on search engines). I believe there is much truth to the "dead internet theory."
Google is unto like dead to me. Otherwise I don't think of the Internet as dead, as substack is a good example of how lively it can be, and a lot more people are online making a living than there were in 2019, which of course is infuriating to the globalist crowd, which is why they are so very enthusiastic about authoritarian controls. So I think to breathe more life into the internet, speak truth loudly :)
Protonmail has a free option (only one email address). I have been using Protonmail for a couple of years after I ditched Gmail. Been working so far. You can also look at Startmail (no free option) but sometimes they have deals where you can get an account with multiple emails for $29.99 a year.
Thanks. I suppose to entirely get off Google I would have to get off Android too. But then Apple is hardly a bastion of freedom. We have clearly given monopoly power to these entities, and such power clearly corrupts inevitably.
I still have one Gmail junk account that I do not use except for my Android phone to access crappy Google Play for apps. I don't use Google Drive (or any cloud server). My sister has an android phone and she deleted all of her Google gmail accounts and her phone still works (she finds a way to get apps from secondary sites). One can limit Google's tentacles, you just have to research it, unfortunately finding info on how to "get rid of Google" on search engines will be difficult.
I had been paying $0.99/month for storage, increased it about two months ago to the $2.99 level, and now they're saying I am again out of storage and want me to jump to the $9.99 tier. Screw that.

Maybe the NSA, FBI, Google, ETC, otherwise no one else that I am aware of.

Worth paying for email to get Google off my back.
