In the Land of Ogres
Venturing through inhuman substacks defending the realm
I have long considered myself to be a troll slayer. Rarely have I ventured into the land of trolls, but when I have found them in the wild, or venturing into public or private spaces, I slay them without hesitation. I have mostly left the trolls to the troll realms, as they are much harder to slay on their own ground and in great numbers.
The first rule of troll slaying is, get them to reveal themselves, which is to say, get them to show their miserable rotten soul. This is not particularly difficult, as trolls are often intelligent in a raw sense but denser than stone, understanding the subtleties of human relations, and yet they have an incorrigible need to emote.
The second rule of troll slaying is, never try to convince a troll of anything, or change his mind. Do not speak directly to the troll, rather speak directly to lurkers who read comments but never comment themselves, who are many. The troll has no discernment, but lurkers often do, and they can see the difference between troll-speak and your own. If you are to influence or change the mind of anyone in such circumstances, it would be the lurker.
The third rule of troll slaying is, never get emotionally involved in slaying the troll. Everything that flows from a trolls mouth is designed to discombobulate you. Once you are offended, the troll has won. Troll slaying requires dispassionate, ruthless imperturbability. A troll is never worth losing your shit equanimity.
Recently, I ventured into ogre country. Like I said, I rarely venture into troll country except as reconnaissance. Leave the trolls to their flame wars in troll country. I have never been to ogre country, I was not even sure the difference between an ogre and a troll, but just lately ogres and trolls seem weakened by political events, so I thought I might enter into the ogre mountains to see about slaying an ogre.
I found an ogre with an orange check, hundreds of paid substack subscribers. At least this one is bigger than your average troll.
Trump voters are the dumbest motherfuckers on the planet. When this doesn’t happen and then everything gets more expensive, the very first thing they’re going to do is try to blame someone else. Immigrants. Biden. The Jews. Hillary Clinton. The Chinese. Literally anyone and anything rather than look in the mirror and admit they fucked up.

You have to give an ogre the last word. That soul bit might nag at him at some point, though ogres are not known for such concern.
Ogres are repulsive creatures, truly. They are also quite dumb, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t dangerous or destructive. The question remains, how does an ogre who literally defaults to calling someone who questions him a pedo in the first volleys of a fire fight, impervious to any and every argument refuting his one-track mind, who is clearly not some great thinker, not even very creative (the opinionated ogre?), has hundreds of paid subscribers?
Methinks if the Trump admin slays the ogres and trolls in the FBI, and black-block funding for stirring up the pot dries up, we will see substack’s like this ogre’s evaporate. Of course the ogre soros and his ilk might be the source of such funding, or that ogre mountain called the DNC.
Anyway, isn’t that what we are doing? Venturing into ogre and troll territory to slay them, to defend the realm? Obviously, this is no great shakes, this post. It is just a reminder, these people ogres and trolls are truly awful. They will destroy the realm if we let them. We have to take the fight to them. Dispassionate, ruthless, secure in our virtue and effective in our task.
