I have talked to these people that pop up from nowhere and they just blather really stupid junior high comments and youmoook and they have 7.8K followers and yet no comments on their inflammatory bullshit. Then I see someone with 578 likes but they only have 4 followers. All happened in the last two months maybe?
I think a lot of the "people" on here are AI. They have far too many subscribers -- and haven't posted anything yet?

It reminds me of when YouTube took away the down vote -- because of Biden videos. They couldn't let it be known that the majority of people don't like the "elected" president. It's all manipulation. But it only works when people aren't on the lookout for it. More and more people are on the lookout for it these days.

Some of the "people" I run into on here remind me of a Phishing text message. Things might appear as if they're legit, until you look at the responses more closely.
I've responded to some messages with total nonsense to see what the reply would be. I would reply with, "Car, truck boat house" -- and the reply [from the bot] includes references to some of the nouns I posted! It might say something like, "You Trumpsters love boats huh! Well you'll cry when you're boat is taken from you!" Or something similar.
The same thing is all over Facebook Marketplace. If you've ever tried to sell something on there, you'll run into more bots than real people.
I don't much think about bots, but I have noticed in a lot of cases, my response to a comment does not get responded to. That is more common than not. I chock that up to people responding to me emotionally but then unable to respond to my logic and reason. But maybe they are not even real. Mostly though people who respond to me are real I think, they are just mess of psychosis and full of shit ideas, lol.
"Speaking to the lurkers" helped clarify your project to me as well. I was tempted to comment "why even bother" when I saw a similar exchange before reading your post. I honestly think we just didn't have it different realities now and I don't think speaking across the chasm is possible. But maybe it is possible to speak to the workers who have not completely fallen in to the hole. I'm just not sure. I do know that I have lost personal friends who knew and trusted me me for years because I questioned some new orthodoxy and just refused to go along. If our relationship was not enough to engage in meaningful conversation, how do you reach a complete stranger through a comment section?
The typical lurker on such websites tends to be more thoughtful than the typical commentor or the writer. Of course it is probable that I reached no one. Still I try.
This is also something of a metaphor for a different kind of fight. It is also like practice for more important fights. But yes, the divide is such, it is like such people live in a different world, and we speak a different language.
I like what you say about speaking to the lurkers because that has been my own strategy since boards are often like an iceberg. There are us loud ones who make noise and are seen, and then something like 8 or 9 out of 10 people there are merely lurking and learning what they can. I try to insert as much information into that exchange as possible, not for the sake of the troll (who DGAF and might even be paid to NGAF) but for those who are here to learn something.
