I’ve been loathe to comment much on the situation in Lihaina; what the heck do I know, living at the center of the continent, a long way from Maui? All I really know is the town was incinerated almost entirely, and it remains something like an information black hole.

On the one hand you have the establishment talking since Aug 30 about 115 dead, while the confidence inspiring, FBI verified missing list stands at 385.

On the other hand there are rumors of hundreds, maybe thousands of missing children. Where would their parents be, though, if those kids are actually missing? You probably don’t want to know what people are saying about that. What about those road blocks that kept people in the inferno? Why were kids sent home from school? Where was the water to fight the fire, next to the ocean? What about all that talk of putting the locals in a reservation aka 15 minute city outside the city, after Oprah and Blackrock and Vanguard buy up all of the former city and turn it into a second Little Saint James enclave?

Probably the most opaque notion is DEWs, Directed Energy Weapons; were such weapons used to start this fire (as has been suggested about the Paradise fire in California, and the entirely unnatural number of fires in Climate Cult Canuckland this year)? No less than Mark Crispin Miller seems to believe it.

I have no idea to what degree DEWs are being used, or where that technology is in the pipeline. I do know the only fire I am aware of that burns in a near perfect oval is a controlled burn. Except you don’t do a controlled burn in supposed 50mph winds and make a perfect oval. Nor any kind of natural burn. And what about all those boats burning, out on the water? When has any fire but war ever done that? How does a wildfire burn an entire town but not the “wild” lands outside the town?

You will be happy to know, that paragon of bought-and-paid-for known as the Associated Press has declared DEWs as the cause of the Lihaina fire, a baseless conspiracy, breaking a record for cliche’s in 83 undergraduate words.

THE FACTS: False claims that a directed energy weapon was the real cause of the devastation on Maui have been circulating online since the fires in early August, despite all evidence to the contrary.

The latest iteration of the baseless conspiracy theory uses cherry-picked images of the aftermath to falsely suggest that only blue items “survived” the blaze — and that this is somehow proof that the Hawaiian island was hit by a laser that either sparked the fire or did all the damage itself.

But then in the same fact check the AP seems to admit that DEWs are a thing.

DEW stands for directed energy weapons — which use technology like high-energy lasers instead of projectiles like bullets.

Well, thanks AP, that’s a relief that DEWs were not used on Lihaina, according to all the evidence that you knew by Aug 10 two days after the fire, pointed to climate change.

But then I was sitting with my Dad watching Jesse Watters on Fox (I sit with my Dad and read substack or write/edit posts while he watches Fox and commercials), when Jesse interviewed eminent physicist Michio Kaku.

Mr Kaku says the government has lasers it can point at clouds to make rain! Great deal! So many problems solved! But then, he says there are eight US states currently geoengineering the weather, to make rain, and I’m like, wtf is my state of Minnesota doing, we haven’t had any gawddamn rain most of this growing season?! Too busy sacrificing children to the Trans god Eugenica, apparently.

But then, I’m like, wait, what if a man dressed as a woman is in the clouds with these lasers pointing them at the ground or at children? Wouldn’t that start a fire? Or maybe a mass psychosis?

Then Kaku says many if not most countries on planet earth are biiiizzy geoengineering weather, and I’m like, wait, that’s what climate change is? I thought it was my hairy back, knuckle dragging internal combustion engine? I thought it was carbon dioxide! I guess that was yesterday, silly silly. Surely the experts with all that geoengineering will fix climate change and fires and lack of rain! Yay!
