Mars, In the Esoteric
A western magical tradition response to my post about the planet Mars.
Mars is the fourth and last of the rocky planets. Mars was once entirely molten; most of its surface at various times was water; now it is bitterly cold and dry to the finest electrically-charged dust, frozen miles deep, but surely still volcanically active. It has the biggest volcanoes and the deepest and broadest valley of the four rocky planets, by far. Mars has no magnetosphere and almost no atmosphere. Inhospitable to life as we know it anywhere near the surface or in the atmosphere. Mars was bombarded and misshapened early in the solar system, the body shows the scars, making for an aggressive solar tilt and elliptical orbit.
The Red Planet
Two weeks ago I knew more about myths and esoteric ideas about Mars, than I knew about Mars the planet. It is proper to say now, I’m well informed, and almost everything I know about Mars the Red Planet I learned from Simon Morden PHD.
In mythology of the West, he is the god of war.
To the Greeks he was Aries. Aries was the son of Zeus and Hera. Because he was the most talented and beautiful of their children, he was promised Aphrodite (Venus) as a wife. Hera was displeased with the haughty perfection of her divine son, and instead gave Aphrodite to Hephaestus, the crippled craftsmen, the god of building. Aries was angry, made war for wars sake, gloried in war for his name. So Aphrodite chose Aries, together they birthed Eros (love), Phobos (fear), Deimos (dread), and Harmonia.
To the Romans he was Mars, the father of Rome, through Romulus his son the founder; the embodiment of war, the statesman as warrior, the greatest of all patricians. Roman Mars was not married, loved much, but was a true consort of Venus for the benefit of Rome. Together they helped build the Roman Republic and Empire.
After the Greeks and Romans, Christians had little use for the mythology of Mars, even if from the esoteric perspective, they have long made use of him (even if much of Christianity is now liberal and neutered by secular modernity.)
War in the human experience is the province of Mars.
There was a resurgence of interest in astrology during the Renaissance, Westerners again thought about Mars as an influence. But then the Enlightenment and the rise of Science put an end of much of that, Nietzche saw that God was “dead” (and all the gods), and then industrial war happened for 150 years. Now in the information age, there are surely more people than at any time in the history of the West (or at least since antiquity), conscious in astrological thought, who will tell you, Mars has influence over you whether you know it or not. Best then to face Mars and make him an ally, rather than be influenced without understanding?
Transitions: Pisces to Aries 2025
This is my second post on Zodiacal transitions. That is fitting, as Pisces is the end of the cycle, Aries the beginning. It was also the Spring Equinox Thursday, so a powerful time; though the Moon is waning.
If you think I overstate his influence, consider the typical male citizen of Athens or Rome well trained since childhood in the fighting arts, compared to the average feminized male in modern America and Europe at war within himself. If the instinct for war is not recognized and given positive direction, it leads to you being lead to the slaughter, or it becomes a war within, or both.
Or like the mostly retarded response to war, here in America.
Leftists wailing over the dead in Gaza, but silent to crowing about the dead in Ukraine and Russia. Liberals and leftists wailing for the Ayatollah and IRGC, while treating the Jew leading Ukraine to a million dead Ukrainian men, like a Prophet. Liberals and Leftists treating the invading/colonizing/conquering sons of Muhammed (and Africa, and Haiti,) like helpless women and children migrants. The increasing likelihood of civil war in America, while the republican Congress suck their thumbs.

If normie Americans do not awaken to and embrace their inner Mars.
Mars is the god of war, the primary archetype of masculinity, but also virility, testosterone, the will to be the best, the will to fight, the will to win. He knows what he wants and he does not hesitate. He is the ferocious protector of what he loves. He is the exactor of vengeance. Without him there is no peace, because there is always someone who will seek to take what you have.
Warfare is the greatest affair of State, the basis of life and death, The Way (Tao) to survival or extinction.
Sun Tzu, the opening line of The Art of War.
We have mostly outsourced war, here in America. Consequently we have become soft as the pillows that would smother us. Women and effeminate men everywhere now tell us how we will live. We made war on the Middle East for a generation or three, so we wouldn’t have to fight them here, and now they are here and they are not subtle about what they intend, and there are still Republicans repeating the phrase, about Iran. Half of white women pine for the invasion, actively support it. Neocon and Neolib warmongering (and materialist consumerism) has made us ripe for invasion. Demoralization inviting allowing an invasion is a consequence for not respecting Mars and everything he represents. Fight to live and keep what you have and gain, or you will go extinct.
No one in the West says it simply like Sun Tzu. Clauswitz begins like a true Prussian:
We shall not enter into any of the abstruse definitions of War used by publicists. We shall keep to the element of the thing itself, to a duel. War is nothing but a duel on an extensive scale. If we would conceive as a unit the countless number of duels which make up a War, we shall do so best by supposing to ourselves two wrestlers. Each strives by physical force to compel the other to submit to his will: each endeavours to throw his adversary, and thus render him incapable of further resistance.
WAR THEREFORE IS AN ACT OF VIOLENCE INTENDED TO COMPEL OUR OPPONENT TO FULFIL OUR WILL. Violence arms itself with the inventions of Art and Science in order to contend against violence. Self- imposed restrictions, almost imperceptible and hardly worth mentioning, termed usages of International Law, accompany it without essentially impairing its power. Violence, that is to say, physical force (for there is no moral force without the conception of States and Law), is therefore the MEANS; the compulsory submission of the enemy to our will is the ultimate object.
In order to attain this object fully, the enemy must be disarmed, and disarmament becomes therefore the immediate OBJECT of hostilities in theory. It takes the place of the final object, and puts it aside as something we can eliminate from our calculations.
I bolded the beginning because that should be contrasted with the way Sun Tzu began. A duel between competing forces/a foundation of being. I know I said this would be an essay on the Western esoteric perspective, but a primary adversary of the West and America is China. Sun Tzu makes it clear, know your enemy or perish. Clauswitz turns war into a subject of Science. I prefer the simple declarative statements of Sun Tzu. Honestly though, I’m equally wary of China, Islam, Jews, Leftists and liberal, technocratic “elite”. Though none of them are the equal of America.
Mars is the will to survive, to live. To define thyself. To make right what is true. Of the body, motion and direction. Mars is the active principle, polar the passive, in balance with Venus cradling Earth and the Moon. The human body is a reflection of all the planets, and Mars is the Active principle.
People who suffer from war, and those who believe in a world without war, have said that Mars is a malefic planet. Malefic is defined as detrimental, working against, harsh and uncompromising. But there are no malefic planets, necessarily. They are all working in balance with the Sun, to help the Earth, Humans and all life. If Mars is malefic it is because he is masculine, war is the province of men, and men are not gods.
Mars is anger, violence and the sex drive. He is audacious, without fear, tactical and clear. He is power, success and achievement. Disciplined defender of the soul and the life of the body. Potency and prowess, naked fighting spirit. Vital excellence.
Virile nature arouses sexual desire, it is the primary cause of generation.
Speaking of the half of white girls who are inviting the invasion of migrants…
They claim to hate the patriarchy, but invite a migrant patriarchy?
That speaks of a lack of true virility of at least half of white American men.
Mars is an archetype, an influence, for all humans. Particularly for men. Particularly for European and American men now, who are facing the demoralization, invasion and inversion of Western Civilization?
When Mars is in his house of Aries in the Zodiak, there is no uncertainty or doubt.
In Rome, Mars was also the guardian of agriculture. The legions were not fed by plunder as much as they were by the fertility of Rome. Mars creates conditions for crops to grow and be harvested by those who grow them. No city could handle a siege if not full with the production of local agriculture. Rome could not survive if the sons of Mars did not protect the farms. It was the law of Rome, any Roman could kill even a rogue legionnaire, in defense of self and property. (If only the empire could protect landowners and farmers from barbarians…)
The People Have to Eat
My post Do-Over Revolution is now my third most read post. Because there is so much interest I am beginning a series. I don’t really have a plan, but then the point of writing about it is to expand on the idea, see where it goes, test the logic and reason of it, see if it really makes sense. As Thomas Jefferson said in the Declaration of Independence, “…
Mars is the ruler of the Zodiak, in his house in Aries, the first of the Zodiak; he begins the cycle. As Zeus has his lightning bolt and Neptune the Trident, Mars weapon is the Spear (and the sword.) His spear is often garlanded with the laurel, same as the Fool in the Tarot, a symbol of peace. The fear of him is what keeps invaders at bay. Peace is possible because he is strong. Because he is so strong, Mars is at peace.
He is also the Ace of Swords in the Tarot, primordial power direct and straight, the truest strength and courage, empowerment, the will to be superb, the conflict that is necessary to change, the profound and terrible power over life.
In shadow, weakly aligned, he is cruel, petty, stupid, prone to irrational outbreaks of violence; or conversely, impotent. But also, rape, plunder and pillage.
He is sexual, to Venus’ sensuality. He is desire to her allure. The iron to her copper for the making of electromagnetism. Together they are an alternating current, the continuous exchange of energy, cradling the Earth.
Mars is the Hero’s journey, the separation from the mother, the test of strength for the making of character, to prove himself worthy and heroic.

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong (1 Cor 16:13 kjv)
Government = darkness. It is a fortress (both government and darkness) for the weak, demented, soulless, psychotic and underworld critters. Government is why we have wars and wars are the darkest events mankind can create. Wars = darkness. Wars = murder. That's what darkness brings.
