Very well articulated.

Yes, this path is not for the faint of heart, yet it is wondrous, beautiful, and essentially empowering.

I was initiated into this Order 30 years ago. Does that mean I am an β€œAdept”?

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

It means I am and forever shall be on the path of awakening to bedrock responsibility for what I both create and allow in my realm.

Is it β€œfun”? Sometimes.

Is it difficult? As difficult as I make it.

Is it magical and wondrous? Often.

Will it make you popular? Very, very rarely.

Is it worthy of practice?

Yes, yes it most certainly is.

Well said. And thank you.

As for adept, I have no will, interest or right to bestow such honorific, nor does the Order. Your work will define it.

Beautiful post, William. The section on forgiveness particularly spoke to me, that every person who harmed you is a child of God, lost. As I prepare to do an episode on Pedo-Sadist Cults, that has deep significance. In looking at some of the Catholic pamphlets around my parents' house, some almost a decade old, I'm struck by the similarity in some ways of the men's groups, Knights of Columbus, reflective practices and points of meditation. Spiritual alchemy is a great term. There's definitely a place, I think, for these societies of transformation.

Thank you. One can see them as children of God lost, forgive, and still have no mercy for their behavior.

Very cool. I’m a follower of JMG but had not heard of this path. The method sounds a lot like Jordan Peterson’s Self-Authoring Project.

Thanks! A bit like Jordan's, but without the Christian, monotheist overtones.

There aren’t any religious overtones in the self-authoring project itself. Maybe you’re conflating that with Jordan’s other speaking and writing.

Please do. I love this post. (I almost accidentally overlooked it in my substack app!) Had never heard of OSA, but it did bring to mind JBP’s Maps of Meaning (even though I haven’t read it). I’d enjoy reading a comparison of the two pathways. Do women use OSA too?

Thanks for the feedback, Anastasia, and note taken. Three fifths of the guardian council are women. I am not certain about the demographic of those who have gone through but are not on the council. I am going to assume that 3/5ths would roughly hold, as I suspect there are more women who have the inclination and courage to look deep within. One of the more prominent Chief Guardian's was Dr Juliet Ashley.

I haven't seen anything about his self-authoring project, but I just assumed having listened to so much of his work on YouTube, that sap would be like that.

Nope, it sounds like it's less religious and more strictly clinical than your process here! Not that a person couldn't apply his/her own belief system to the process if necessary.

You have me curious about it now, and perhaps will do a comparison piece at some point.

Great idea!

Really well put, thank you Hunter - THIS is why you're the Chief!

Absolutely would love to see a lesson on Wonder - this essay and that idea are so synchronous for me today.

Thanks for the feedback! I will go about that work asap....

Beautiful, Hunter. I often struggle with how to explain the OSA to people, but now I can just link them here! I mean that in all sincerity.

And I love the idea of your Law of Wonder. Write that baby up, I'll take a turn through that lesson.
