Beautifully written, William. I like that science and religion are an artificial dichotomy, perhaps the same as the separation of church and state. If both were defined as a means of inquiry, rather than a dogmatic set of answers, we would be including ethical and moral questions into both science and state. The magician is a powerful archetype, i.e. form of ruling, and it requires turning it around to demystify the tricks and use it to access the power for good we need to work with.

Thank you, Tereza. Indeed we need to intentionally activate our own magician energy in order to counter the effect of the mal-information pouring forth from Church, State and the institutional "experts". Which I would reiterate, most of us with some immunity to institutional depredation believe in divine, mystical and/or magical power.

"What if I told you the magician/alchemist archetype in shadow, the manipulator (4), rules this age, it has polluted the world and it is in the process of destroying Western civilization?"

Isn't priestcraft a part of magic? Consider an alternate definition of magic: The work of a mage to enslave or enthrall. The Magi were priests. They had slaves. The Magi in the Oera Linda are depicted controlling their slaves with fear and superstition. The druids were judges and priests--the ecclesiastical trees--these ancient trees have divided into four modern professions: Lawyers, Doctors, Judges, and Priests. All of these professions have an aspect of priestcraft. Deception is a big part of magic. Those who practice deceiving others can grow to despise them. These are the ethics of priests, to exploit and despise the general public. A magician can also display these traits if he's not careful.

I really enjoyed reading this and I don't disagree with anything you said and I learned a few things. Of course we need occult practitioners because so much knowledge is suppressed today. I'm not a practitioner but I enjoy the philosophical aspect of magic. Paracelsus was a very interesting character to philosophy and he was a practitioner of magic and a healer. Jacob Boehme was another mystic philosopher who influenced Blake. I've been exposed to Welsh Bardism through my interest in Blake and poetry in general.

Deception is a thing people do, not any more or less prevalent among magicians I think. Someone predisposed to deception is probably going to use magic to deceive. Most magicians I admire say what you give is what you get back, so be good, or at least ethical. It is true though, the decievers are preeminent in this age.

This was excellent. I'm sad I almost missed it on the flow (and maybe that means I need to do some "housekeeping" as the cool kids say).

I have a bunch to say about it, but I need to collect my thoughts. I've been writing a bit about hypnotism lately that I have yet to publish, and this dovetails neatly with it along several angles.

Will write more later, but first I clearly need to read your work on other archetypes. Thanks for this, Hunter.

Thanks Mark! Eager to hear your thoughts on hypnotism. It is a little known skill that is highly abused by our media, gov and corporations.

I agree. And -- weirdly enough -- I think I have the data to prove it.
