I’ve done some hard thinking about this Substack since my last post. I, Liberal was a polemic in poem form, about the descent of liberalism into madness. A lot of warrior energy, plus the rhyme, turned it into my least read post in at least the last six months. I’m not complaining, I’m not at all surprised. That’s ok. What I’ve been wrestling with is that warrior energy.

I’ve recently invigorated my spiritual practice. That has coincided with an ambitious poetry project I am working on, that will probably take me the bulk of this year to finish, if not longer. It is going well, but it is also taking energy from my work on Substack.

Without going into too much detail about that spiritual practice, it involves a good deal of discursive meditation, and also each morning I pull one tarot card, to give context to the day, something to think about, something to consider, to reflect and meditate upon. Three times in the space of eight days I pulled the Warrior of Cups.

You probably notice the swastika inside the vesica pisces. The vesica pisces, is a symbol of the feminine, resembling the yoni, and in this case it is the gateway to the astral realm, the place of the imagination and dreams, that also harbors the creative energy flowing directly from the Creator. The swastika was a religious symbol in cultures around the world for 7000 years at least (before Hitler and the National Socialists,) meaning many things but in this case, spiritual involution, looking within, turning from the material to the spiritual.

The warrior is resting his arms on his sword and his shield. He has set them down. Cups represent the element water, the fluidic nature of the universe, spirit and the unconscious. The Warrior of Cups is resting, turning within, reflecting on his service and works. He is not a young man, his time as a warrior is coming to an end.

When that card shows up three times in eight tries in eight days, at 51, it is time to turn away from war and look within.

Much of my public, online writing for the past fifteen years, really since before the credit collapse of 2008, but especially after, has been warrior energy. Much of the work of this substack has been that, attacking the neoliberal, woke/trans globalist project. I would not say it has been extremely successful, ever, not just here at substack. Successful that is, in terms of readership growth, but certainly successful insofar as no one can ever accuse me of not being honest. I helped move the “overton window”, immeasurably surely, but while I was not the leading edge I’ve been ever near it, helping others along.

I’m tired though. The energy just isn’t there anymore, not to the degree or the way I have been expressing it. Especially now, after Trump has assumed power. It is not like there is not warrior energy needed yet, in America, his fight against the entrenched deep state is going to be an ongoing battle. Rooting the woke out of Academia and institutions generally is not going to be easy. But that is not my fight now, not to the degree I have been waging it.

Not least that while I have been very appreciative of Trump’s tactics in the main, quite enjoying the shock and awe of it actually, his people are signalling on deportations they are only going after the worst criminals (they all are criminals for crossing into the country illegally,) 1-2 million apparently, because he cannot afford to damage the economy. So, Biden lets in maybe 20mil, 18mil get to stay and work off-the books for industry? And you want to bring in how many million H1B Indians, for a net increase of migration? Never mind those Indians are coming from one of the most corrupt countries on earth, and the H1B system is more or less a model of that.

So, we have 50mil illegal immigrants that are going to be mostly ignored, while they work off the books and get everything paid for, which money they are then going to send out of the country? Colonization without a name? What was I fighting for again, to save my country from being overrun by illiterate foreigners turning America into a bananas republic? ²

(Some of my rethinking this warrior work is feeling distress, seeing many of my favorite online warriors on the Right going harder on Trump than they did against Biden. The links Neoliberal Feudalism offers are not as damning as he is making them out to be, but the fact that a lot of these immigrants are working and on the dole, and no one seems to be talking about that, is a problem. I can assure you this, very unhealthy not at all MAHA big dairy 2016-2020 did not exist without illegal immigration, and Trump never did anything about that. Illegal immigration is absolutely endemic in big dairy now.)

Anyway, what was I saying? I wrote a 5000 word poem last fall and this winter, which has been well received by the few I have shown it to; and I am working on one that is going to be considerably longer. I expect the latter to have some fringe commercial appeal, so that is where most of my writing energy has gone lately. I’ve written poetry from time to time all my adult life, but lately I have been reading a lot of older, lyrical work, and I find that it suits me. I’ve also been experimenting with book binding. Nobody publishes poetry that isn’t The Liberal Current Thing, so I am going to make my own books and build my own publishing company. The fine detail work of book binding suits me as well.

I’m not the only one thinking authenticity is going to matter more as time goes on.

Gardening season approaches (the root cellar is now half full). I’m buying quite a few more fruit and nut trees for the orchard and the family 80. While I have had some time off this winter (which I have been very grateful for and have put to good use,) I will be busy running my construction company as well, starting soon. Also the fine detail of guitar playing suits me, so I’ll be busy with that. The guys think I am going to help them win another 35 and older state baseball championship, but I’m not so sure about that.

Otherwise I’m done with the polemics here. Probably for the most part on Notes as well. I’m going to focus instead on writing about the esoteric theories I am studying, I will do some book reviews, I will do an occasional garden post. Once a month I will do a post about the political/spiritual state of America, possibly in conjunction with a tarot reading. I’m spending a lot of time on Tarot and Cabala, so I will be writing about that. I will write about book binding, various other projects I am working on.

I very much support the changes Trump Admin is making to Washington DC. I fully support his cutting off all funding to liberal NGO’s, their former-employees can go compete with the illegal immigrants they have been supporting, for work in warehouses, barns and fields, see how they like illegal immigration then?

I also truly hope there is a kind of reckoning about the last eight years, the authoritarian madness the left has descended into, an opening of the books so we can get some resolve about Covid, Russiagate, Jan 06, censorship, Ukraine, Biden, elections etc (I am not expecting a re-evaluation of our “relationship” with Israel.) Truly, the globalist, woke, trans, authoritarian crowd can never hold power in America again. I don’t know about a golden age, I would settle for less rank insanity, something more like balance and equilibrium. Make America Healthy Again.

I know a lot of you probably subscribed because of my polemic posts and notes. I expect to lose some of you. Best of luck to you. Keep up the good work fighting for America - America needs it. Just now though, I need a tactical retreat for myself, to gather my energies, and maybe come up with some more constructive ideas about the future of America.
