Spiritual Protection
On demons and protecting the self from dark influences

recently hosted Ahnaf Ibn Qais. Qais and I have clashed before, on the Tree of Woe Substack, as I profiled in a post I called When They Show You Who They Are. In that post, I found Qais to be a bit too hungry for a Muslim led invasion of America and the wholesale slaughter and subjugation of it’s citizens. Only after a United States initiated nuclear apocalypse of course. [post too long for email.]
This piece I found to be similarly grandiose. Qais sees himself as a Muslim spiritual warrior, and he is very hungry for action.
Man, we realize, is being enslaved and devoured. Nobody, not even the most vapid materialist, can deny this. All 'basic' notions regarding incentive and motivation fail to account for everything we see. Underdetermination regarding the sheer volume of the attack can only point to malevolence, plain and simple.
No 'Elite cadre' of Humans, however organized, well-connected, and influential, can pull off all these great Evils. Human nature alone indicates that such a group would be stupid, arrogant, lazy, and insensitive (regardless of the boons mentioned earlier). The meticulousness, patience, and determination needed to inflict all these crimes cannot be from Mankind.
Such Evil can only be from the Unseen realms.
I consider this to be fundamentally flawed, not because it posits the existence of demons, which are quite real, but because he is suggesting demons are like puppet masters controlling our elite and their minions. That is simply not how it works. People choose to do evil, or they choose to do good. Maybe they literally act in service to demons, but it is still a choice.
will tell you, growing up he always knew the difference, he just didn’t usually choose the good. No demons are directing anybody’s actions, like the human is some automaton. Nor are demons suddenly going to break through the veil like an invading army ala Constantine.
Dear reader, are you going to 'wait and see' before the obvious becomes apparent to you? What is needed to convince you? A vast nuclear bonfire, after which a giant portal from the unseen realms is forced open, with trillions of horrors invading the mundane world of Man? When amidst the smouldering ruins, entities emerge with malevolent forms silhouetted against the ashen sky, etching the blanched firmament with vile, ominous contours? That these Malevolents cast a shadow upon the residual essence of Man, its remnants darkened and forlorn? That they rip apart the fragile, delicate veil between realms and desolate our lands, in means elegant and sinister? That the ensuing post-apocalyptic despair, anguish, and otherworldly malevolence fuse into an unholy tapestry whereby all senses, reason, intuition, and feeling are lost, and all manner of speaking and description are rendered futile?
If that level of carnage and slaughter is needed to convince you, dear reader, of the reality of the Unseen, I pray that you never be convinced!
That is the whole premise of Constantine, the son of the Devil is going to usurp him, break through the veil with his legions of demons and rule the earth in fire. It is very entertaining, as a film, but about as accurate about demons as Harry Potter is about magic.
Some of this reads like pulp fiction.
Yes, demons are real and aplenty. Much of the behavior of the "left", woke, trans, global professional managerial blob can only be described as demonic, which is to say, anti-human and anti-life.
But you don't need to fill your head with notions of the veil being ripped wide and demon hordes pouring out into the terrestrial world to rape. pillage and devour, to recognize that unchecked the path these forces are leading us toward is mass death.
Anyway, get right with the creator. As for magic, it is mostly a means to get your shit together and get creative, to achieve the fullness of your being God gave you.

It is equal parts persuasive tactic as well as what I genuinely believe will transpire.
That said, Agreed with the general sentiment that for many normal/laypeople, a Good Idea is to seek Almighty God's Help on their own matters.

A good reminder to remember too, there are demons, and there are humans. You didn't really do that here, blur that line - humans can very well be demonic enough without possession, but saying people are demons is to dehumanize, like the MAGA slur, dehumanizing making it easier to kill.

Yes, we should definitely not Dehumanize... that said, I have a Zero Tolerance policy towards those who collaborate with Demons & Djinn. If sufficient Evidence exists to show said Cooperation... let's just say, I have little mercy left for such Scum.

Most of what we think we know about demons is merely the influence of Hollywood, mostly the image of the human twisted into grotesque proportion. But demons are like “cortices” or shells of evil, the seven deadly sins as example: pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony and sloth. Being influenced by a demon is little more than dwelling energetically in any of these deadly sins. Once one partakes the influence becomes greater, it literally begins to transform the body and mind, twisting yourself out of right proportion. But it is your choice, there is no demon puppet master.
I would reiterate that point too, about dehumanizing. There is a fine line between saying people are influenced by demons, and saying people are demons. Once you blur that line it becomes easier to dehumanize them, dehumanizing them it becomes that much easier to destroy them/kill them. We see this with the MAGA slur, which might as well be “demon”, the rank fear-generated hatred directed by media at rural white America, all across the West this slander of “Far-right extremism”, allowing liberals to justify censorship, taking away people’s licenses, closing their bank accounts, getting people fired, for nothing more than disagreeing with the liberal project deconstructing everything.
Demonizing the left, dehumanizing people on the left, only exacerbates the hostility, making conflict, violent conflict more likely. Dehumanizing the “other” is evil, if it makes you justify the worst kinds of totalitarianism to destroy them. I encourage you instead to embrace your humanity, get right with God, become a warrior for the good. Violent conflict may or not be likely, but both sides dehumanizing the other makes it inevitable.
This was a lot of intro, I do not mean to bury the lead about spiritual protection. Spiritual warriors need protection.
Circle of Protection
I am repeatedly frustrated seeing substack writers using the word occult to describe the death cult that has consumed the West, as if occult is somehow synonymous with evil. Occult is the study of the unseen - the Creator is unseen. The occult in my experience is the study of making oneself mentally, physically and spiritually strong, achieving the fullness of ones being as given by the Creator, to exemplify the Creator and creation.
So I thought I would show you a simple ritual I am familiar with, called the Circle of Protection. This might be a bit like sifting the wheat from the chaff, but I hope you will see, dear reader, I would not show this to you if I didn’t think it would be potentially healthy and useful for you. This may seem objectionable to the modern, rational, materialist mind, but that way of thinking is what has brought humanity to this precarious place, so it seems to me time to open up to new, but really older, ways of thinking. To re-enchant the world.
What follows I learned from John Michael Greer, so it would be most accurate to say it comes from the Druid, Celtic tradition.

Choose three deities. Father, Son and the Holy Ghost; Isis, Osiris, Horus; Father sun, Mother earth, Holy Guardian Angel; whatever you care to chose.
Call out to them, facing the east, in gratitude, with thanks, and ask to receive wisdom, guidance, discernment, justice and protection.
Imagine the sun directly overhead, set your hands on top of your head palm up, imagine the top of your head like a fiery crown, and a beam of light connecting that crown and the sun, your hands reflecting that energy around you in an energetic circle, or like an egg. Breath deeply three times.
Imagining the circle, now move your hands to your belly, just above the groin, hands parallel to the floor, palms down. Imagine a beam of blue-green light coming up out of the earth, hitting your hands and dispersing around you, mingling with the energy of the sun in the circle that is like a barrier around you. Take three deep breaths.
Drop your hands then sweep them up in a circle around you above your head and then to your chest, hands together.
Facing the east, reach your arm out in front of you and with a finger or two, trace a small yellow circle clockwise, with a line stretching from the top of the circle. Imagine a scene of spring before you, in the circle, in as much detail as you can. Call out something to the effect of: I call to the east, the direction of air, of the lover, of spring, of new life and new beginnings. I seek your protection.”
Now trace the same image, counter-clockwise. Call out, “I cast out all sickness, darkness and evil from this circle, that can arise from air.”
Turn to the south, trace a red triangle in the air before you, clockwise, imagine a summer scene in the south of your circle. Call out something to the effect of, “I call to the south, the place of fire, of the warrior, of summer, abundance and the quickening. I seek your protection.”
Trace the same sign, counter-clockwise. “I cast out all sickness, darkness and evil from this circle, that can arise from fire.”
Face the West. Trace a blue, upside down triangle, clockwise. Imagine a deep body of water, before you in the circle. “I call to the West, the place of Water, the place of the Magician, of the depths, of cleansing and purification. I seek your protection.”
Trace the same triangle, counter-clockwise. “I cast out all sickness, darkness and evil from this circle, that can arise from water.”
Turn to the North. Trace a black image similar to the sign for air, but upside down. Imagine a vast wasteland, a desert or winter scene. “I call to the north, the place of Earth, the place of the King, of substance, of death in service to life. I seek your protection.”
Trace the same image, counter-clockwise. “I cast out all sickness, darkness and evil from this circle, that can arise from earth.”
Turn back to the east. With your hands together before your chest, call out in gratitude and thanks, to your deities. “I thank you, for your wisdom, guidance, discernment, justice and your protection.” Raise your hands above your head, sweep them outward in a circle, bring them together again before your chest, closing the circle.

A lot of magical practice is creative visualization. The Circle of Protection creates a protective sleeve around you, in the astral realm. This is the traditional ritual, contemporary rituals often add three more directions, above, below and within. The traditional will suffice here, to illustrate what this is about.
Typically a new student will only create the circle, tracing the image for the East, the first week, adding another direction each following week. Gradually building on the process makes it easier to internalize. Once you have done this awhile, you can see and feel the circle at anytime, eyes wide open. It lends a sense of calm and peace of mind, the more one practices it. Not doing this ritual for a period of time, I begin to feel laggard, less settled. It is a very energetic time, the astral realm is hot with swirling energies. This is like a spiritual boundary that cannot be crossed but by invitation. That said, it is not some magic pill or panacea. If you do this ritual and then spend the rest of the day thinking about perpetrating violence against the other, the ritual will not protect you.
The astral realm is the realm of imagination and dreams. It is considered to be the pure creative energy flowing throughout the universe, direct from the source. It contains all that is good and all that is evil. Most people dream and imagine without intention, they are as adrift, easily manipulated by earthly and spirit forces; some people find it very hard to imagine anything at all, intentionally. Imagination is like any skill, it can be improved, strengthened with diligent practice. Magic at its core is imagination, intention and will. We imagine, we set an intention, we will it into being. That is the essence of creativity.
There are all kinds of ways to creatively visualize intentionally, to facilitate mental, physical and spiritual strength. I said that is what this Substack will be about primarily, in 2024, as we navigate the metastasizing madness, sharing tools for keeping-it-together.

It is crucial to make the distinction between "the occult" and "the dark occult." When people and groups sequester knowledge/information — whether esoteric or exoteric — for themselves in order to manifest power over others (i.e., consciousness manipulation), that is dark occultism, and yes, I would consider that practicing evil.
I agree that we ought never to consider human beings as demons, but many are certainly demonically possessed. Some of them DO NOT have a choice, as they were either born into bloodline families or kidnapped as infants/children by bloodliners. However, I believe that each of these people have "wake up" moments during which they can attempt to remove the entity attachments and flee the dark-occulted group. We see this with celebrities such as Kanye West a few years ago. He unfortunately had his lucid moment while on stage and was immediately removed and brought in for reprogramming.
I have been deeply curious about the difference between what we humans like to *call* love and what love actually *is*.
Having been deeply involved in religious communities earlier in my life I understand how much I have come from a place I thought of as loving yet which was not. Much of it was fear.
My discernment between the two is now rooted in my body. I ask myself: is this love or is this fear? If it’s not love, it’s fear! And fear is not love.
It really is that simple for me now.
